Hello There!

Hi! I'm Xiyuan Wu, a Computer Science student at the University of California, Riverside, currently exploring full-time opportunities and mainly focusing on software development/engineering and data analysis/science-related jobs.

Why am I fit for it? In school, I completed SDE and Data/AI-related courses, including data structure and algorithms, software engineering, database management systems, AI, and Machine Learning.

Outside of school, I completed five specializations to enhance my skills: Google (advanced) data analytics, deep learning specialization, Meta full-stack developer, and React Native. Additionally, many projects I have undertaken since completing the course have further enhanced all the skills.

Now, my major skill set includes Python, React, React Native, Django, TailwindCSS, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, and TensorFlow.

Data Science Research

Constructed a low-cost, machine learning-based approach to detect life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias, evaluating its feasibility using both non-invasive signals from ECG data and simulations of internal cardiac activity.

Addressed class imbalance in the dataset using SMOTE and undersampling, then applied ensemble methods and tree based models, achieving 97% accuracy with 91% average recall rate in arrhythmia classification.

Predicted internal cardiac activation times at 75 myocardial locations using CNN (loss of 2 ms), and subsequently applied an LSTM (loss of 7 ms) to reconstruct the entire transmembrane potential curve.

Conducted market analysis of taxi industry by performing statistical analysis of market penetration, profitability, and demographic data, using hypothesis testing to identify profitable expansion opportunities and operational inefficiencies.

Operationalized a predictive model via Flask API locally, and containerized it with Docker for API deployment on GCP.

Built and evaluated an end-to-end project using bank marketing data to predict customer subscription outcomes, covering the full cycle from EDA to comparative ML analysis - achieved 91% accuracy and identified call duration and demographics as key drivers of subscription behavior.
